Béchamel and tomatoes oven baked sandwich

Ingredients

  • BECHAMEL SAUCE:
  • 3 1/2 cups of plant-based milk
  • 4 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons of vegan butter
  • Salt
  • Nutmeg
  • Black pepper
  • INGREDIENTS FOR THE SANDWICH:
  • 12 slices of sandwich bread (no crust)
  • 3 cups of béchamel sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of vegan mayo
  • Oregano
  • 3 tomatoes, chopped
  • Half cup of olives
  • Vegan cheese
  • Vegan bologna
  • Half onion, finely sliced

Instructions

  1. FOR THE BECHAMEL SAUCE:
  2. In a saucepan on medium heat, melt the butter then add the flour, stir vigorously for 5 minutes, add the salt, pepper, and nutmeg and the milk little by little and keep stirring
  3. After stirring for 3 minutes more, turn off the heat and reserve
  4. FOR THE SANDWICH:
  5. Add the bread to a baking plate, add the béchamel sauce, the tomatoes, onions, olives, oregano, cheese, and bologna, repeat the process until the bread is all in the tray, finish with the remainder béchamel sauce and garnish with tomato slices.
  6. Put it in the oven on 350F (185C) for 25 minutes. Serve it immediately.
